This is a list of abusive incidents that happened in relation to the archive. If you recognize yourself in any of those entries, please reconsider what you are doing. Hosting the archive costs money, and if I end up having to cover most of it myself (especially if the cause for increased cost is nefarious), I'll just shut it down instead. - On 2023-05-16 20:35 UTC, someone started sending loads of invalid requests to the /api/uploads endpoint, presumably in an attempt to automate queueing uploads. Afterwards, they queued roughly 34 builds of different devices from the top of the "not yet uploaded" list, causing an additional ~$0.01 per day spent on storage going forward and about 5 hours of additional spinning-disk time, more than doubling the usual amount for a single day. - On 2023-09-20, someone or something sent up to 3000 download requests to the Backblaze server, maxing out the API limit in the process and subsequently shutting down the ability to download archived files. - Starting 2024-04-16 01:50 UTC, 23 different builds of LineageOS 19 were queued for upload in quick succession. This delayed other (legitimate) requests by more than two hours, caused additional disk spinning time and cloud storage use, and significantly slowed my efforts of uploading pre-QPR2 builds of LineageOS 21 to archive.org, as well as an ongoing server migration.
